Bugs you might experience in Data Download from ‘Trends Engine’ inside installed ez2view

On Monday 11th August 2025 we released ez2view v9.13 – including some useful upgrades to the ‘Trends Engine’ described in this Release Note from Callum.

Differing manifestations of the bug, depending on your version

In the ~4 weeks since the release of the upgrade, we’ve since heard from some clients running older versions of the software that they have experienced some issues with the upgraded version of the ‘Trends Engine’ when running older versions of the embedded browser within these older ez2view copies.

Here’s two manifestations we have seen:

Version 9.9.*

If you’re running a v9.9.* copy of ez2view then:

(a)  Worth noting you’re running a version built in September 2024 (12 months ago), or earlier …  so you’re missing enhancements delivered since that time, such as:

i.  v9.10.* in November 2025; and

ii.  v9.11.46 on 1st May 2025, and then v9.11.54 in June 2025; and

iii.  and v9.12.* in July 2025; and

iv.  v9.13.*in August 2025

(b)  With respect to this particular bug, if you are using v9.9.* you might see it manifest with an error like this:

Version 9.11.*

If you’re running a v9.11.* copy of ez2view – then, we’ve seen from clients that they  might experience the error like this:

How you can resolve this issue (if you experience it)

Even apart from this particular bug, we’d generally be suggesting a good start would be to upgrade to the Latest Version of the installed software

… you can always find the Installer for the Latest Version here.

For version 9.11, refreshing the cache within the embedded browser might also fix the issue for you.

… but for versions older than this, that won’t work

A work-around in all cases would be to access the ‘Trends Engine’ online in your preferred Browser.

… see this page for notes about how to access ez2view Online:

(a)  which is not the full functionality of the ez2view Installed Software,

(b)  but does provide access to ‘Trends Engine’ that has most of the functionality:

e.g. excepting the operation in conjunction with ‘Time Travel’ in the installed software.
